Ookini Ryokan & Apartment

We were pleased with Ookini Ryokan & Apartment where we stayed in Osaka. It provided very good value for the money and was a pleasant experience. It was in a quiet back street but within walking distance of Dotombori for the shops and nightlife.

At Ookini Ryokan & Apartment there's no around the clock clerk on site; no elevator; and no restaurant or laundry on site. But we were fine without those things. A staff member was on site when we needed to check in. (Kwon was very courteous and helpful. He carried our heaviest suitcase up to our room for us. And while wearing a suit, he ran down the street in the rain to fetch a taxi for us and tell the driver exactly where we wanted to go. He was a gem.) And checking out on our own was simple and easy.

We booked the Deluxe Room via their website and were very pleased with it. It was modern, spacious, and clean. The beds were big and comfortable. The bathroom was spacious, modern, and clean. The shower had great water flow. There was nothing we didn't like about the room. The view out the window was of the building next door, but I didn't book the room for a view. And I think they even gave us a portable Wifi device to use while we were out and about. (We had already rented one for our trip, but it was a nice extra they threw in.) For around $200 a night, I felt we got good value with the Deluxe Room.

They also have other sizes and styles of rooms available. You might want to browse those and see if there's something that would suit you even better.

Foodium is a grocery store within walking distance of Ookini Ryokan & Apartment.
We got our breakfasts and snacks there and were happy with them.
Some foods we got from the nearby Foodium grocery store.
